What is a coalition partner?

A Virginia CASH Campaign coalition partner is an organization or group of organizations working together to provide free income tax preparation services in their communities. The Virginia CASH Campaign coalition is made up of many diverse organizations. These organizations are commonly referred to as coalition partners. The Virginia CASH Campaign (CASH stands for Creating Assets, Savings and Hope) is used by many of the coalition partners to help define the groups and bring everyone under one recognizable brand as they link free tax prep with other asset building opportunities.

Why become a coalition partner?

Coalition partners are eligible to participate in the Virginia CASH Campaign EITC Grant Program. Coalition partners who qualify may use funds from the EITC grant to provide EITC outreach, EITC education, and free income tax preparation services to eligible EITC recipients.

In addition, coalition partners also use the VAEITC.org website as a resource for information sharing throughout the year. The website is dedicated to providing coalitions with a valuable tool for information and resources. Your clients can also use the site as they seek information about tax help and asset building programs.

How do I become a coalition partner?

When your organization applies and is approved for a EITC grant you automatically became a coalition partner.

You may also contact VACAP to become a coalition partner. Eligible coalition partners must provide EITC outreach, EITC education, or free income tax preparation services. There is no charge to be a coalition partner.

In 2007, all coalition partners are required to use the CASH Campaign logo in their outreach.
