Fairfax County Launches Financial Education Initiative

Fairfax County's new Financial Education Initiative complements the successful Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) that provides free income tax preparation services at 18 sites throughout Northern Virginia.  The goal of financial education is to give residents the tools and resources they need to recover from a financial crisis or to prevent a crisis from occurring in the first place.

EITC Days Kicks Off, Starts the Savings

The Office of Human Affairs (OHA) and the Families Achieving Community Economic Stability Coalition (FACES) kicked off EITC day on Friday, February 5th at the Downing Gross Cultural Arts Building in Newport News.  Wendell Braxton, Executive Director for OHA, introduced Congressmen Rob Wittman and Robert "Bobby" Scott.  Both Congressmen shared their thoughts about the EITC.

Marketing Webcast Now Available

Super Saturday in Martinsville at PHCC

Patrick Henry Community College will host a Super Saturday event on February 13th from 10am to 2pm.  The United Way HOPE Initiative will offer free tax preparation during the day.
