Free Tax Preparation Deadline Nears

Martinsville Bulletin- Martinsville, VA-

Five days remain to take advantage of a United Way program that provides free tax preparations for eligible area residents. 

"The people we see are in need of saving all the money they can," said Pam Allen, coordinator of the United Way's HOPE (Helping Others Progress Economically) Initiative.

Tax Refund Delays Possible if Government Shutsdown

As many people continue to file their taxes before the April 18 deadline, some are wondering how long it will take to get their refunds.  Some residents are still taking advantage of the free help sponsored by the Community Action Partnership of Staunton, Augusta and Waynesboro.
